Delta introduces Proximity™ Sensing Technology on Faucets

Delta Faucet introduces the newest technology in hands-free technology – Proximity™ Sensing Technology.   Proximity Sensing Technology is a unique sensing technology that forms a 4” field around the body of the faucet and once the user’s hand enters the field, the faucet is turned on. When the user removes their hands from the water stream, the faucet turns off within 2 seconds.

This technology is much more versatile and adaptable to the needs of those needing assistance.  The user does not need to be directly in front of the faucet or the infrared beams.  This also allows the faucet to be placed anywhere on the sink at the 8 or 9 o’clock position on the left side and the 3 or 4 o’clock position on the right side for ease of use.

The faucets have been designed for ease of installation and is built to self-calibrate once it has been installed.   The new sensing technology no longer uses infrared technology, but uses the entire faucet as a sensor.

Proximity Sensing Technology should be available in October 2009 on the popular Arzo and Grail solid brass faucets.  The Arzo and Grail have a modern design and are often used in public facilities.
