Kohler Merlot - Color #85

We are currently looking for any Kohler fixtures in the color Merlot – Kohler color# 85. Merlot was a High Fashion color for Kohler introduced in 1991 and discontinued in 2001. I’m still not sure why it was discontinued I get requests for it all the time.

I think the color was ahead of its time, maybe someday it will be re-introduced as a specialty color. Merlot is part of the Red family of colors that stand for elegance, established and luxurious. One look at a Merlot fixture and you can see it was expensive and the color runs deep making it a rich looking color.   Merlot was used by top rated mature designers who were willing to take risks for clients wanting something different and out of the ordinary. I worked with a designer who used a Kohler K-792-85 Mendota bath and 12 x 12 dark green, gray and brown slate tiles as the wall coverings. The finished product was amazing.
